Papyrus Health
Medicine deserves products that work — and earn trust.
Papyrus Health builds focused clinical tools that apply AI where it uniquely fits: constraint-solving optimization for schedules, computer vision for the operative record. Every result checkable, nothing a black box — designed by a practicing surgeon who lives the problem.

Founded by Scott Halbreiner, MD — a surgeon who has drafted the op notes, taken the call schedules, and sat through the IT committee meetings these products exist to fix.

One team. Focused tools for the operational spine of a health system.
Each product stands on its own. Together they share one design system, one security posture, and one team.
Scrubgrid by Papyrus Health
Schedules that satisfy every constraint — and every surgeon.
Provider call schedules and OR block time are constraint problems, not spreadsheet problems. Scrubgrid uses constraint-programming optimization (CP-SAT) to generate schedules that honor coverage rules, credentials, time-off, and fairness at the same time — with every trade-off visible instead of buried in someone's inbox.
- Call schedules that balance burden instead of arguing about it
- OR block scheduling grounded in actual utilization
- Every rule explicit, every exception auditable
Scrubnote by Papyrus Health
The operative report, written by what the camera saw.
Scrubnote is a computer-vision model that watches OR video and drafts the operative report — each statement linked to the moment in the case that supports it. The surgeon reviews and signs; the EHR receives accurate, discrete data instead of dictation backlog.
- Drafted from the video record, not from memory at 6 pm
- Every claim cited to a timestamp the surgeon can verify
- Populates EHR fields as structured data

IT intake & governance
A platform for how health-system IT decisions actually get made — from request intake through procurement, governance, and real-time tracking. In design.

Why Papyrus
What we believe about clinical software
The record started as papyrus.
Medicine invented the written record. Somewhere along the way the record stopped serving the people writing it. Our name is a commitment to fixing that.
Focused tools beat sprawling suites.
Each product does one job a clinician or health system actually has, does it completely, and stands on its own. No module sprawl, no shelfware.
AI where it uniquely fits.
Not a chatbot bolted onto an old workflow — the right technique for each job: constraint-solving for schedules, computer vision for the OR. AI that asks for clinical trust shows its work: schedules prove their constraints hold, and generated notes cite the video that supports them.

Scrubgrid and Scrubnote are in active development with early partners. If scheduling or operative documentation is a problem you own, we'd like to talk.
